Institute for the Professional Development in Culture (State Educational Institution for Continues and Post-Graduate Education) and the Board of International festival KUKART hold in the summer 2007 (June 22 – July 6) the International festival of Puppet and Synthetic Theaters KUKART – VIII.
Festival KUKART, that has no analogues on the Russian art-stage, is held biennially since 1993.
The originality of the festival is in organization and investigation of area of the intertextuality and synthesis – the space, where are taken of the limits between dramatic, dancing, puppet theaters, music, visual art, traditional and contemporary artistic language.
The tasks of the festival are:
- Presentation in Saint-Petersburg - cultural capital of Russia - of the best performances of puppet theaters and creative projects;
- Working out and realization in practice of strategies of team-work of representatives from different genres and sorts of Arts;
- Representation existing and creating the new intertextual and synthetic productions;
- Researching of the ways how to join traditions and innovation within the frames of the particular production;
- Organic integration of contemporary art in classical environment of architectural and arts monuments.
- Presentation of Producer’s Award KUKART for creation of unique infrastructure of Puppet Theater.
More then 40 theatric projects will take a part in KUKART-VIII:
Russia – Mitishchi, Moscow, Omsk, Yekaterinburg, Kurgan, Vologda, Pskov.
Foreign countries – Israel, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Denmark, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Poland.
Honorary guests – Henrik Yurkovsky, Victor Shrayman, Victor Platonov.
Special guests - Slobodan Markovich, Alexander Turyanica, Artur Gukasyan,Petre Vutkareu, Konstantin Ognev, Roman Dolzhansky.
